cleaning honed marble floors |
Article Number: 1075 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Mon, Jan 21, 2008 at 12:00 AM |
Hello and thank you for your time and intrest. We have grey and white honed finish marble floors throughout our home and I have been trying to research the best way to clean them. Nevertheless, all I have been able to come up with is basically soap and water. I am concerned that I am not disinfecting the floors and our grout is getting dark and darker by the day. I had one spot that I used Clorox clean up and the grout just shined! Can I use a clorox water solution? What are your thoughts on Hoover wet vacs? Once again thank you for your time and wisdom! Margaret
Dear Margaret:

Disinfecting
the floor??... Why, is this floor in a Hospital or something??
“

”
Well, it's getting dirty…
Once or twice a year – depending on traffic conditions – you should clean your floor with a little floor scrubber that you can find at any appliance store (Sears, for instance) with a solution of hot water and a heavy-duty alkaline cleaner rated “for natural stone”, like MB-2. (I'm not comfortable at recommending bleach. It may affect the stone.) For routine cleaning instead, a good quality floor detergent (not a soap) rated “for natural stone” like MB-1 will take care of it.
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

Ciao and good luck,
