absolute black granite all streaked

I have some absolute black granite that looks like it has water streaks and tried to get them out with your MB-3 and MB-5 but no luck. Any ideas or other products I can use to remove them? I was told to use muratic acid. Thanks, Jeff

Dear Jeff:

I was told to use muratic acid.

WOAH!! My comment to that is that if jack-asses could fly, the person who told you that would never need to buy a pair of shoes!!

No cleaner will ever solve your problem.

It could be either that the fabricator/installer applied an impregnator (improperly called sealer) to your countertop thinking that's granite. If that's the case, an invisible film may have been left behind and cause the sorts of problem that you're experiencing.

The other possibility is that your slab had been maliciously doctored (see: http://www.doctoredstone.org) and the lighter streaks is the true color underneath the black “shoeshine”. In such case only a legal venue could solve your problem.

Of course, marblecleaning.org could help. But we have to find out the real cause of the problem before considering any course of action.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri zio Bertoli
