Hard water stains on marble monument sign |
Article Number: 1645 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 12:00 AM |
Q. I have a marble monument sign in front of a commercial property that has lime / calcium stains on it from the sprinkler system --we have very hard water in San Antonio. How can we clean the stains off of the sign?
A. There are a couple of solutions. First, try using MB Stone Care MB3 Soap Film Remover. Alternatively, if the buildup is light enough, try using a fine steel wool. If all else fails, have a pro come out and do what is called soda blasting.
After you have it cleaned, maintain it by using a good stone safe cleaner like MB-5. You can find MB Stonecare Products at www.mbstonecare.com.
Keep us posted how you come out.
