Hard Well water and stone shower

Q.We are trying to decide what type of stone or tile to use in a bathroom remodel, including a new shower. We have somewhat hard well water, enough that our existing fiberglass shower has always been very difficult to clean, and eventually has permanent stains. So we want to use a material for the new shower that will be easily cleaned or not get water stains in the first place. What do you recommend?
A. Please excuse our delay in responding.
If the fiberglass has stains I would reccomend using ceramic tile and a stain proof grout.
