Star Galaxy Granite Kitchen Worktops

Q.Last month we had our kitchen fitted with Star Galaxy Granite Worktops. I have noticed 3 rings appear in the worktop they look like grey watermarks, after reading many websites I am concerned that we may have worktops that have been doctored ? Can you tell me is there anyway you can do a test to check. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Tracey- There are two possibilities, one that your countertop was improperly sealed and residue is on the surface etching. The other is that your stone is doctored.
Contact fred hueston from stone forensics inc.You can look him up on the web. He sells a test kit.
Before you do that get some acetone and try to remove any excess sealer. If the rings arent removed by the acetone go to the next step.
Wet a paper towel with the acetone and wipe a small area see if the towel picks up any black dye.
If it does you know it has been doctored.
We always tell folks to inspect and test the slab before it lands in your kitchen. Good luck.
