Need advice on purchasing vessel sinks |
Article Number: 1952 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 12:00 AM |
Q.I plan to purchase two vessel sinks and I am not sure what to purchase. I found ones I like in travertine and some in a cream colored marble they called stevia marble. Is one a better choice or easier to take care of verses the other? Will they show water spots? Any advice would greatly be appreciated. I have never had stone sinks before.
A. Good question-If you are searching for a perfect material for a sink it may not be marble. It is acid sensitive and will react with anything acidic. Hence the so called water marks are actually etch marks caused bycommon acids such as vinegar, wines, coffee, etc .
The travertine would probably be the better choice as it is soft but very dense and will handle the wet enviroment better.
