Grouting and sealing travertine

I have 4x4 unfinished honed travertine tiles for the backslpash in the kitchen behind by stove,my questions are: Should I use sanded or unsanded grout for the job and do I have to seal the tiles once they have been grouted?

Considering the type of installation, the choice of the grout become strictly a matter of personal preferences.

As for the sealing, the answer is yes. Wait for several days before applying the impregnator to allow for proper curing of the setting material.

If your stone darkens when wet and you like that particular look, instead of a regular impegnator like MB-4 you could use a stone color enhancer/impregnator like MB-6 that will give you the darker hue permanently.
