Absolute Black Honed and MB-11

I have been reading your posts regarding absolute black granite and water spots/etching. My granite is abolute black honed (or so I was told) and was just installed last month, was sealed by my contractor and has begun to get these spots. Will Your product MB-11 help to remove these spots? If I use this product and the color fades to a lighter gray, does that mean that the stone was dyed? Thank you so much for your help. I am in a super state of confusion about how to proceed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but when your installer applied the "sealer" to your stone, at the end of the job it was all nice and black (though still with no shine), right?
 
If so, they applied a stone color-enhancer. The principle is right; it is indeed the best thing to do, but, according to your report, it appears that the product is not good enough for the intents and purposes of a kitchen countertop. In other words, it appears that the color-enhancer they used is sensitive to acidic substances and gets damaged by them.
 
Just using MB-11 would not solve the problem. In fact, MB-11 will finish to remove every bit of the product that was applied to your stone and leave it gray and subjected to surface staining. (And you don't want that!!)
 
Therefore I consider MB-11 the first step of a complete restoration project. (Don't get scared by the wording! It's easy!! :-))
 
First, you MB-11 the whole countertop and remove all the color-enhancer. Make sure that everything is nice and uniformely gray.
 
Second, you thoroughly clean the surface of your stone a couple of times with acetone to prepare it for the final phase of the project. (Keep your windows open while doing that!)
 
Third, you apply a good-quality stone color enhancer, like MB-6, to your stone surface to make it nice and black - still without any shine. Good-quality stone color-enhancers are not affected by most common household acidic substances.
 
And don't forget to use the right cleaning products for routine care. Not only do you have to take care of your stone, but of the newly applied color-ehnacer, as well!
