Granite quality |
Article Number: 683 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Wed, Oct 24, 2007 at 12:00 AM |
Dear Maurizio, A great site I wish I had discovered it earlier. Is there a worldwide data base/ grading system for granites and there quarry origin? We install a lot of worktops and try to source as competitivley as we can, but never at the cost of an inferior product, its a hard call for a layman to eyeball a slab and judge its quality but it is just possible for us to find out where the stone has originated. Many Thanks in advance.
Dear Sean:
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli
Unfortunately, there's no such a thing. And there never will be until the industry stays as unregulated as it currently is.
On the other hand, historically no industry ever self-regulated itself from within; only the push from angry and fed-up consumers were able to accomplish industries (like the lumber one, for instance) to get serious.
This is what we at marblecleaning.org are trying to do: gather the complaints, gripes and problems of consumers, get their support and go for them in front of the stone industry establishment and demand that they clean their act up and turn the industry into something not to be ashamed of.
If you want to give us your support, you know
what to do.
