Travertine Paver Installation

I'm installing 3cm travertine pavers around my pool in north Florida. I'm using a concrete base. Should the pavers be set in thinset/grout or in sand, and if sand is the right thing to use, what kind of sand should I use? Thanks.

Dear Tom:

I like sand.

Which sand is better, though being that you live in Florida (no freeze and thaw cycles), even thin set would be acceptable ?...

I really don't think it makes much of a difference. If you are in the Florida panhandle, that white quartzy sand is wonderful! (Though you won't be seeing it!)

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http:// www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
