Absolute black honed granite countertop

I have a honed granit coountertop in my kitchen. We have been loving it now for 3 years and just adore how it looks. When it was first installed the installer had "sealed" it with something that (I guess) protects it from water marks. They suggested I reseal it every year or so, but neglected to tell me what it was. (In fact I went back to them to buy some about 1.5 years later and they put some in a soda can for me to use, but would not give me the name. Very curious, I know. I applied it (by rubbing it on with a towel, waiting about 1/2 and hour and then rubbing it back off. very simple.) Anyway, I love the counter, but I am noticing that thye cup rings are starting to stubbornely stay put when I try to wipe them off and I think it is time to reseal it again. Could you recommend a product I could apply. Thanks for your help. Great site! Thanks. Jenn

Dear Jenn:

The only type of “sealer” that makes any sense with hone-finished black granite is a good quality stone color enhancer like MB-6.

However, before switching brand it is paramount that the old product is totally removed – not an easy feat. Or else, you have to find out that particular brand and get hold of it.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri zio Bertoli
