Staining Limestone

What is the best process for staining limestone to get a nice chocolate color or look? There's not a lot of information out there for staining limestone. I did a sample using a coffee base, mixing in a little bronze metallic glaze (very thin to make sure the stone would absorb it), but to get the color I want , I have to coat it many times with the wash or glaze. The end result is a pretty color, who knows how it will weather, or last as it is an outdoor kitchen exposed to the elements. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dear Todd:

Sorry, but I never wanted to get involved with staining stone. Never did – never will.

I therefore can't certainly claim to be an expert on this subject.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?
