Portuguese limestone hearth chip damage

Dear Maurizio, I have a number of small unsightly chips on the edge of my limestone hearth. Can you recommend a suitable filler that can be applied and colour-matched please? Thanks in anticipation for any assistance you can give. John

Dear John:

It ain't gonna be easy!

How about tackling the problem from another angle?

Why do you have all those small chips? Because the top edge is sharp (I guess), and every time you hit with somethin blunt you chip it.

Get some 60 grit sandpaper (metal-grade lasts longer) and by free hand shape your top edge slightly rounded, until all the chips are gone.

It's easier that you may think.

That is what I would do myself.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri z io Bertoli
