Sealing hone-finished Marble

Would sealing a honed marble floor make sense, particularly around the commode (acidic urine splash), or is that not a significant risk? Thanks, Peter

Dear Peter:

Being hone-finished, around the commode it does make sense sealing it with a good-quality impregnating sealer like MB-4. But remember: no impregnator on the market can offer 100% sealing performance; it only gives you ample reaction time. Translation, if the possible spills of urine will not be blotted within, say, 15 minute, it will go in no matter how well sealed the stone is.

Ciao and good luck,
