Indian Multicolor slate in shower stall

I am having a guest bath shower made and I wanted to put indian multicolor slate on the floor and the shower. I hear this type of slate does not hold up well in water. Is this an OK slate to use or will it cause problems down the road? What about brazilian or chineese multicolor?

Dear Juan:

Let me give it to you short and sweet: I would not put any slate in my shower stall, not even if they'd pay me to get it!

Any questions?

I didn't think so! J
