Reversing acid clean on sandstone |
Article Number: 1466 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Sun, Jun 1, 2008 at 12:00 AM |
I have cleaned my clients sandstone patio using an aciid based solution and this has left a white mmist over the affected area. It is an outdoor patio and would like any information you have on rectifyiing this problem. Thank you Jamie
Dear Jamie:
Acid and stone are two words that should never be read in the same sentence.
Too late now…

The result consequent of a chemical reaction can't be reversed. At least this one can't. Only some seriously deep and aggressive honing (probably grinding) of the stone to reach a layer that was not affected by the acid will do the trick.
Now, do you have the right equipment, abrasives and, above all, the training to tackle a job like that?
If not, you'd better got hold of reputable stone restoration company to do the job for you.
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

Ciao and good luck,
Mauri
