sealing pietra bedonia kitchen counters

Q. I just moved into new construction. Kitchen counters are pietra bedonia. What is recommended to seal / clean / protect this type of stone?

A. Pietra Bedonia is a sandstone. Sandstone can be very porous, so it will be vulnerable to staining unless it is properly and adequately sealed. You may need to do several applications. Follow the instructions on the label and test periodically to make sure the sealer continues to inhibit liquids from being absorbed.

As for cleaning it, use a good quality, stone safe cleaner such as MB Stonecare MB-5. Both the sealer, MB Stonecare MB-4 and the cleaner can be found at  http://www.mbstonecare.com.
