Marble-top table

I have recently inheirited an antique marble-top table. It has been neglected for quite some time and needs to be cleaned. What is the best way to clean it? There are several rings left by glasses.

One thing is for sure: you're not going to be able to remove those “rings” by cleaning your marble top!

I'm also pretty sure that beside the rings you have more different damages on that stone and none of them could be cleaned off!

Considering that's an antique, your only option is to hire a bona fide stone restoration contractor who will lightly grind (hone) and then polish your stone.

Now, you'd better watch out! I consider stone refinishing as the very pinnacle of all the activities related to stone from a professional point of view. Unfortunately, there are a lot of quacks on the loose out there! You get one of those, and you may have to kiss your stone bye-bye!

How could you tell a champ from a chomp? Could you trust the recommendation of your local stone distributor, or contractor, or your interior decorator? Hardly!
