water rings on slate end table

Q.My stupid boyfriend set a pitcher of water and a cup on my slate end table overnight and now I have two lovely rings that wont come out and have faded the color. Any suggestions?
A. Ah come on cut him some slack. How was he supposed to know that these tables were rare one of a kind showpieces that belonged in a museum. My wife has a big note up right at our bedroom door. It says no food or drink
past this point and we dont even have slate tables.
OK OK i am just kidding I know your upset.I need more info because water shouldnt do that .Send a pic to mail@stoneshine.com and we will try and offer some advice.Where did you buy these tables and do you know what type of topical coating or sealler is on them.
