Discoloration of brand new tumbled tile

Q.I recently had tumbled tile installed as a backsplash in my kitchen. I cooked some burgers last evening using olive oil in a skillet. Some grease splashed on to the new tile leaving it spotted with a kind of greenish spotty stains. The original color of the tile is off white. The installer sealed the tile. I took an extra tile I had stored and put some olive oil on it and sure enough, it, too, discolored. I tried vinegar and water to no avail. Is there a poultrice or some other chemical that might leech out the stains that are obviously embedded in the tile? I'm so distraught. Was going to have wallpaper put in Monday, but I now have postpone this. Thank you for your recommendation.
Hello- It may be best to call a bona fide stone restoration
pro to remove the stain and properly seal the stone. You can find one at www.stoneandtilepros.com
If you want to try and remove the stain yourself go to my website and print out our care guide. You will find a section that explains how, what and when to use a poultice.
You can also buy a poultice from stone tech or aqua mix.
If will add some difficulty because you are working on a vertical surface. Dont be Distraught and ruin your weekend. Also dont rub vinegar on your stone it is acidic
and it will etch your stone. It may also open the pores of the stone and make it more prone to stain.
E-mail us if you need more help or if you cant find a pro.
