whats better for my floor

Q.we have german shepherds. what's better marble or granite? thank you for your great web site!
A. Well thank you Paula! How many shepherds do you have? By Far my favorite dog.
There are many types of marble and granite. Most likely a honed finish would work better than a polished finish.
It also really matters where the installation will be.
How much traffic and your tolerence for scheduled maintenance by a pro. Then again if you pick the right stone such as a honed travertine you may do well.
On the other hand maybe a ceramic tile would suit you better. It is important to work with a knowledgeable installer and stone dealer so they can make sure you are aware of the pros and cons of each product.
The best product will be the one that requires the least maintenance and has the best look for your home.
Do your research and good luck!
