removing Sharpie marks on granite.

I have just installed a new granite counter top (DIY) and used a Sharpie to mark my cut lines. Now I can't remove the marks that remain at the edge of the cut. What can I do to remove these marks.

Let's start by saying that it ain't gonna be easy!... :-(

This is not just in consideration of the staining agent that's so difficult to remove, but even more importantly, of the position and shape of the stain.
