Granite Kitchen Countr Tops

Hello Maurizio, We just recently had black pearl granite counter tops installed in our kitchen. There is a variation between two of the slabs, which is most noticeable at the joint between the slabs. One slab sticks out farther than the other by 1/8 inch. The mismatch is very obvious to the naked eye, what clearly looks like poor worskman ship.T he installer tries to convince us that it is normal because the slabs are frebabricated. The question is, is this true and is there a fix.

Dear Raj:
Wheter they are pre-fabricated or not, there's no justification for what you're reporting.
To fix that they will have to open up he two pices of slab, push the polished edge of the wider one in to be flush with the other slab (the 1/8" differential will be on the back now), and then seam them together again. As simple as that. Yes, I know: the two slabs will need to be de-glued from the top of the cabinets and all that, but... There's never time to do things right, but there's always time to do things over!... :-(
And, BTW, I surely hope that they did not "seal" your countertops!
