Volga Blue Cleaning

Hi Maurizio, Thank you for your wonderful site. We are installing Volga Blue in our kitchen. This is our first experience with granite. I have been told conflicting methods of maintaing and cleaning the granite. What do you recommend for daily cleaning, especially disinfecting? Will bleach solutions affect the granite? Thank you for your time. Best, Terri

Dear Terri:
First of all, congratulations! Not only is Volga Blue an incredibly attractive stone, but is also as tough as they come!! Only a few "granites" are as maintenance-easy as VG! (BTW, it's anorthosite.)
MB-5 and (occasionally) MB-13 is all you will ever need and then some!
Disinfecting shouldn't be an issue, as you can tell by reading the free article on "Bacteria on granite" that you can find by visitng the Helpful Hints section of our website. And while there, do read the article on "Disinfectant-cleaners" as well.
However, if you really insist, you suggestion to be used occasionally is perfectly safe with that stone.

May I ask you now to please read our Statement of Purpose that you can find at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Maurizio Bertoli
