I recently receive some soapstone samples from M. Teixeira which included a stone called Malibu Green. upon further inquiry they tell me it's not soapstone, but rather Serpentine. I understand it's sometimes called green marble although it's not a marble. Is this suitable stone for a countertop? How does it compare to Soapstone or granite? Having used soapstone for many years in my Chemisty lab, I know how durable it is. I can find very little about serpentine. Many Thanks in advance Jerry
Dear Jerry:
I never heard of such Malibu Green stone (whatever it is).
I even did some research, but could not find it anywhere under that name.
It could be the despicable names-game at work, though I hope not... :-(
Sorry, but I can't help you with that kind of information.
However, whatever that stone is, if you run my little lemon juice (and oil) test you should be able to find out about its suitability.
But remember: the fabricator - not the stone - is always the most important factor in the whole equation!!
May I ask you now to please read our Statement of Purpose that you can find at:

Ciao and good luck,
