tumbled travertine kitchen counter

I would like to put some sort of finish on my tumbled travertine kitchen counters to make them easier to clean--crumbs get stuck in the divots, water pools in the grout lines, and the counter never looks as clean as I would like. The tiles are about 3x3 inches so there are LOTS of grout lines. Any suggestions?

Dear Anne: Are you implying that you did not fill the holes in the travertine??… In a kitchen???… And then all those grout lines??… Whoa!!
A countertop like that is just for looks, not to be actually used!
Unfortunately there's no “finish” that you could put onto the stone to help you with your problem.
Ciao and good luck,
Maurizio Bertoli
