Granit / Marble Shine

Hi, which one of your products would you recommend for me to use on my granit counters and marble coffee table that will make them shine? Both in the black family and lost their shine.

Dear Zena:

which one of your products would you recommend for me to use on my granite counters and marble coffee table that will make them shine?

None that you could buy, unless we're looking at a few etch marks here and there, which going by by your description doesn't seems to be the case.

I do have very effective products to re-polish marble and granite surfaces, but none of them can be handled by any DIY. In other words, you're only option is to hire a reputable stone restoration company.

However, one thing baffles me: I can understand the marble table top, but why on earth should you need to re-polish your granite countertop?… In theory, it should never be re-polished, ever, if not under extreme circumstances (chemical damages or scratching). Maybe it is only the consequence of having used the wrong cleaning agent for its routine care… For that, I would give it a shot first with a heavy-duty alkaline cleaner with chelates in its formula rated for natural stone, like MB-3. Follow the directions printed on the bottle, rinse thoroughly, and then finish the job with MB-3 followed by MB-13 (use just a tiny bit of the latter and buff it thin).

If that won't work, then and only then will you call a pro.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Maurizio Bertoli
