Bianco Romano weird staining

All of the countertops in my kitchen are Bianco Romano Granite and were installed 7 years ago. But recently I noticed some large yellowin areas and have no idea what is causing it. Can the stains be removed and is cleaning them with 409 every day the cause? What shoudl I use to clean them daily after cooking?

The long term effects of generic cleaning agents, or cleaning agents that have not been tested long enough and on different kinds of stones, are unknown and unpredictable. Even the consequences are unknown in many instances.

Let's take your Bianco Romano “granite”. Is it really granite? What is it in reality?

Bianco Romano is a far cry from granite; it's pegmatite.

Was the cleaning product that you mentioned ever tested on that particular stone and for a how long?

And if in the long run it turned out to be detrimental to the stone, how did this detriment materialize?

So, unless you spilled sometinng that stained your stone (but then again, yellowish??... Kinda hard to figure out.) it could be indeed a consequence of the use of the inappropriate product.

And at this point, I really don't know if there's any hope to remove those discolorations. You may want to try poulticing them with 30-40 volume Hydrogen Peroxide, but I want you to understand that I'm fishing in the dark here.

As for routine cleaning, I always recommend a good-quality specialty product rated “for natural stone” like MB-5 which is on the market for over 17 years and has been intensively tested on several hundred different stones.
