I have honed black absolute on my kitchen island. It has many ring marks and scratches that don't go away when washed? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

If it were only for the rings and stains you could do it yourself, but since you have scratches, too, your only option is to hire a bona fide stone restoration contractor that will have to completely re-hone with a good-quality honing powder your entire countertop. After tht I would encourage you to apply a good-quality stone color enhancer resistant to acidic substances like MB-6 and also the use of appropriate cleaning products like MB-5.
