India Black Pearl granite

I've been reading several of your responses to questions about black granite, and I'm now worried that our India Black Pearl is not really granite! Within a few days of installation I chipped a corner (it was a heavy glass pot lid) and we have hard water rings around the faucets. What do you think?

Dear Keri:

What do you think that I could possibly think?

You chipped a corner of your countertop and you have hard mineral deposits around your faucets. Not much else to think, right? J

As for the chipped corner, only a professional could repair it, unless you still have the broken off piece. (If so, let me know and I'll tell you what to do.)

As for the mineral deposits, remove the worst with a razor blade (no it will not scratch the stone), and then finish the job with a heavy-duty alkaline cleaner with chelates in its formula like MB-3.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
