Dupont Certified

Our stone fabricator only sells "Dupont Certified" stone products. After reading about the Stonemark guarantee promoted by another store, can you tell me if I should have a higher level of confidence in this product, or in the service I will receive from the fabricator?

Dear Donna:

What do you expect me to tell you?...

I am from the old school and I have this thing: I still believe that snake-oil salesmen should only belong in county fairs…

But hey, maybe it's just me…

And maybe they're not snake-oil salesmen after all, and I only think they are!...

What do I know?...

Well, maybe I do know a couple of things: For one, I know that none of the stones that Dupont promotes as “Certified Granite” is granite at all! (That was the last time I checked and after I finished laughing, that is. I don't know if they “updated” their selection recently and now, maybe, they do have a true granite in it – assuming that they even know the difference.) Second, I also know that a great number of the “certified granites” they sell can't be technically sealed.

And these two little things that I know are science – not my humble opinion.

Which goes to prove, once more, that the world needs marblecleaning.org!

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
