What type of stone is Butterfly Blue? We had this installed on our kitchen countertops. Also,our pennisula has a 13" ledge on one side and they indicated that corbels were not necessary. They "swiped" some stuff on it and told us it was sealed; then left us a can of GranQuartz 3in1 Spray Cleaner to use as cleanup. The installer said to just use water to clean daily. So, whatever stone we have purchased, we just want to keep it maintained properly. Which of your products is recommended? Thanks,

I have not the faintest idea! It could be charnockite, but it could also be something else with those blue inserts. I don't know anybody who ran a petrography test on that particular stone. It's from China it appears to be relatively “new” to the market, and it sure is a gorgeous piece of rock!

Corbels (or other supporting means) are mandatory after 11”. Actually, not know gin the stone and its flexural strength, I would corbel the overhang after 8” if it were my own home.

Well, that is because it is probably what his wife uses to clean dishes and what he uses when he showers himself: just water… Nice!
