We have just had Uba tuba countertops installed, I want to look after them properly from the start so plan on buying from your site. Apparently the counters are sealed--which of your products should I buy for everyday maintenance and for an initial cleaning. (The installer recommended a SCI sealer/cleaner --or Windex, but I'd prefer to start out properly with the correct products .) I dont want to use a sealer on a regular basis if its not necessary. Any information would be appreciated, this would be the first cleaning and I cant find out from previous questions how to start off. I have not yet bought the maintenance information from your site--maybe this question is covered there, but I wondered if uba tuba was specifically addressed. Thank you

Wow! I'm really impressed! Either a product that, if you ask me, makes no sense whatsoever or a product that's not rated for the job… Makes me wanna go, hmmm…

First off, Ubatuba does not need to be sealed – ever. Consequently a product that's a cleaner and a sealer at the same time makes no sense to me for that particular stone, though I have to admit that it has great marketing appeal. Second, I personally prefer using a cleaner that's a cleaner and, if and when needed, a separate sealer. Now, do you understand what I mean when I always say: Now remember, it's never too early to think about the proper maintenance of your stone. The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is – as it should be intuitive – vastly more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable) and it's all too often neglected. As you can tell by reading many of this site's postings, you're not likely to get good information about routine care from your dealer or installer. Don't become another statistic!
