granite kitchen counter top not polished right

When our kitchen counter top was installed, it was sealed by the installer. Later it was didcovered to have some scratches in it. The installer said to steel wool it lightly. This did not remove them. He said that the scratches must be below the sealer and he sanded the sealer off and removed the scratches. Then resealed the top with sealer. However, the sanding removed the wet look shine from the top. The edge was not sanded and you can see the difference. We have since polished it with a wax polish but it never has the wet look and must be shined with a cloth when it gets a little smeared with water or a hot mug. I would like to remove the wax polish and the sealer and then create the original wet shine and the seal it. What should I do? Please help me.
