Black Zimbabwe Granite - water staining

Hello, I have been reading through your forum and am a little confused. My Black Zimbabwe granite has 'water marks' on it (ring marks, plus other stain marks). The provider has told me he will come and polish them out. But how do I know if these marks are as a result of a wrongly applied sealer or due to doctored granite. Can you help please? Thanks

Dear Paula:

Considering that is Black Zimbabwe, most likely it was maliciously doctored by the factory. It was the good folks from Zimbabwe that first performed the “miracle” of turning their gray granite into black granite, via the application of some “magic shoe-shine”.

The provider has told me he will come and polish them out.

There are only two chances to that: no way and no how. L

At best all they could try to do is apply some extra black “shoe-shine”, thus perpetrating the crime of consumer fraud.

Unfortunately you're in the UK and there's not much that marblecleaning.org could do for you. You may want to check this site out (which is our offspring): www.doctoredstone.org.

Unless you can solve this matter amicably, only a court of law will see that your rights are recognized, alas.

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,

Mauri zio Bertoli
