Granite countertop with weird green stains

We recently had Colonial Beige granite countertop installed in our kitchen 3 weeks ago. We are now noticing a light green colored spot about 1" x 1" underneath the sealer or in the granite. The spot is on each side of the seem. It wasn't there when they initially installed the granite.

Dear Sharon:

No matter how much you think of me (and I'm flattered), I'm not that clever… :-(

Your description of the issue is too vague and hard to evaluate without any visual. You're best bet is to consult with your fabricator/installer and try to find out what the problem is and how to possibly rectify it.

Of course, if we could know that kind of stone Colonial Beige actually is (its mineral composition and all those goodies that nobody seems to care about) it could be easier to understand the problem, but being as things are in our “happy” stone industry… you fill the blanks.

And that is why the world needs marblecleaning.org!

May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at: http://www.marblecleaning.org/purpose.htm?

Ciao and good luck,
