I purchased a home in NJ with an in ground concrete pool and the surrounding deck (geological classification unknown, but suspected to be a sedementary sandstone) had been prior treated with a sealant/coating. A container was found in the garage [Scofield Co.-Cementone Clear Waterbased Sealer]. I was successful in pressure washing off about 85%. Testing a scrap stone with water, lemon juice, & oil, all penetrated the surface but only the oil left a permanent stain. Given the foregoing sketchy information, is it advisable to apply an enhancing treatment to this stone deck to bring out the rich colors which have worn to a dusty fading beige/grey?

Yes it is indeed a good idea, but considering the high absorbency rate of that stone, first you will need a few applications of a good-quality product to work (like MB-6), and, second, you may have to apply it once a year or so.

Other than that, it's green light in my book.
