Dear Chris:
I have no way to convince you, so I won't spend much time on this one. Should you care about my opinion, it is completely unsubstantiated misinformation fueled by the manmade engineered stone and hard-plastic (a.k.a. solid surfaces) producers and distributors because their market share is dropping like a brick from the Empire State Buildings. So they use these despicable scare tactics to try to contain the damage.
“Homeowner kits” with Geiger counter and all that are a total scam IMO. Radiation must be measured by a trained technician in a specifically controlled environment.
Like I said, I will not spend any time on this issue.
Oh, BTW, you should also give up your cell phone: even with the blue-tooth it's been “proven” to cause brain tumors…
Sure enough, if marblecleaning.org could have its ways, the stone industry would have something solid to fight back these blatant lies.
May I ask you now to please read and e-sign our Statement of Purpose at:

Ciao and good luck,
