My travertine shower will not dry out around the bottom grout line. I can dry it and dry it and water keeps seeping out. We left it for 3 days and used a space heater and water still comes out. The installer insists there couldn't be a leak in the newly redone shower. Any advice?

Without actually seeing your stall, there's no way I can come up with any credible diagnosis, but one thing is for sure: you have a huge structural problem and, going by your sketchy description of it, the only way to solve it is with a jackhammer, I'm afraid.

Whether the accusing finger has to point toward the plumber or the tile setter, like I said before, I wouldn't know without actually inspecting your installation. However, it is pretty clear that you have lots of water under your shower floor and that the weeps holes by the drain are obviously clogged. And that can't certainly be the plumber's fault.

I hope that you can solve your problem soon, and when everything is said and done, remember: it's never too early to think about the proper maintenance of your stone. The issue of what you'll be doing day in and day out to your stone is – as it should be intuitive – vastly more important than its sealing (if and when possible and/or advisable) and it's all too often neglected.
