Travertine Vanity

Q. I am a longtime user of MB Stone products and have a question. I have a travertine vanity in my bathroom. Unfortunately, I put a candle on the vanity never thinking the heat from the base of the candle would create a ring that I cannot seem to remove (the candle was new, so I never imagined the bottom would get so hot). Is there anything I can do?

A. You will have to use a poultice with a strong solvent such as MEK or similar. There are directions on how to apply a poultice in our stone care guide at www.stoneandtilepros/care-guide.pdf .
