Star Galaxy: Real or Doctored?

Q. Hi, i have just had Star Galaxy installed. After three weeks I noticed a lighter mark. I sent the installers a picture and they said that the sealer had reacted to something acidic. I have been reading you articles on doctored stones. My stone is grey under the bottom (the part that hasn't been "shined"). The installer told my husband it is grey to start with. They sent me a black wax to remove mark, which it did for a few hours, but after I cleaned it again the mark has reappeared. It is not as bad, but it is there. They are coming out on Monday to see it. Do I have real Star Galaxy or do I just need the sealer removed? I am at my wits end and very confused as to what I have bought. I didn't see the granite before it was installed and didn't know much about it. I just thought that was what I would get. Please help!

A. I would have to see a photograph of the granite to tell you if it is Galaxy or not. If you are seeing gray spots the stone is either doctored or it may contain calcium which will etch with acidic foods and liquids.
