We just moved into our BRAND NEW house on Dec. 1, 2008. In the master bathroom, the sink is made of white marble. One day recently, I turned on my curling iron and walked away to let it heat up and when I returned to curl my hair I noticed that the curling iron had stained the countertop with burn marks! How do i fix this? Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thank you, Ami Filler

 

A. It sounds like you may have cultured marble and not natural marble. IF this is the case, the fix can be tricky. You can try taking a little bit of baking soda and mixing it with some water into a paste and then rubbing this mixture in with a terry cloth rag. If it is natural marble you can also try the baking soda. If this does not fix the problem it may need to be resurfaced by a pro.
