Maurizio, last December we had "cactus Boreal" granite installed in our kitchen. I did the lemon test and found that it did not need to be sealed. The installer touted the indestructable qualities of granite (you can cut on it, etc)so we were pretty tough on it. However we have a spot that is cloudy (no longer smooth and shiny). I took a scrap piece and scrubbed it with the back side of a spunge (the green scrubber side) and was able to duplicate the cloudy look. Did I ruin my granite or was it doctored? Is there any way to fix it. Thank you for your assistance. larry

Well, using the word “ruin” is excessive… :-) You did damage it, that's for sure, and the bad news is that it is certainly not a DIY project- no matter how small a project it is. It can be easily repaired and brought back to its original finish by a proficient stone restoration contractor (only a small percentage of them do face-polishing of granite), though.
