Absolute Black Granite floor tile HAZING

Q.Hi I recently put in a new kitchen Floor and I used absolute black granite from Lowes HOME improvement store in Dartmouth MA. I thought i was getting a good deal at 6$ a square foot and now that I recall the boxes said a product of CHINA. Now less then a month later the floor looks terrible , very hazy , I called Lowes and they told me to try a product that they carry but it says it is for ceramic tile not stone. I am very upset so any suggestions would be of great help thanks again. DAVE
A.Ok Dave-lets see if we can help.Ab black is a stone that comes from different countries with varying qualities.True blacks never need to sealed and if yours was that may be your troubles right there.Remove the sealer and enjoy your stone. Its also possible it could be grout residue from the install? That can be removed as well.Hope you didnt use sanded grout.
On the other hand chinese blacks can be high or low quality. If you have a spare piece give it the lemon test and see what happens.Ab black is a acid resistant stone so if it reacts with the lemon it could be the dye reacting. If the stone has been doctored check the sides of the tile. You will notice a type of black shoe polish a telltale sign of doctoring. If thats the case well then you may have some issues. Please feel free to call me at 888-400-4302 as I could use more info to assist you.
