Travertine installation

Q.I have been getting several ways of installing travertine on my shower walls. I was told that the only thing I needed was some hardybacker or cement board on the walls to placing plywood on the walls and then laying cements with chicken wire to reinforce the wall because of the thickness of the stone. My walls are straight and are not damaged at all. The stone I have selected is simple tumble 6x6 and 12x12 tiles. Do you think the cement board or hardy backer is enough to hold the travertine? Thank you for your response.
Hello Sir-we are not installers but what I can tell you is that an experienced installer should have plenty of satisfied customers under his belt.He should be experienced with stone. You need to check references or you can kiss your tumbled travertine goodbye.I will refer you to the john bridge forum those guys are installation experts.
