Q.Our kitchen was designed around absolute black granite and I now discover that what was just installed has been doctored. I have read that the dye can be removed by using Methleyne Chloride or marble polish. Has this worked for others (and just revealed a lighter but stable color)? The installer is willing to replace the stone but after we looked at several distributors we find that there is no decent undoctered absolute black currently available. Is using a black quartz (Silestone, etc) now the best option for people looking for a solid black appearance? Any thoughts or suggestions on how to deal with our problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
