Q.how can I remove the what looks like resin/sand that is rough in places on the table
A. I could use a bit more info such as is the table polished or honed. I will assume it is honed and the rough areas you see is the material (possibly grout)used to fill the natural holes or voids in the stone. A stone refinisher may be able to correct the issue for you.
