stain on quartz counter

Q.My wife was changing AA batteries in one of the kid's toys and placed the old batteries on the new Quartz counter top not realizing that one of the batteries had leaked acid. Our counter now has the distintive shape of a AA battery. The fabrication shop had no suggestion for me. Can I polish this stain out with a 4" dry diamond polishing disc? If Yes what Grit? Or any other suggestion would be Great. Thanks, Michael Niehaus
A. Michael-It is possible to hone out the damage and polish back to gloss engineered stone. With that being said
we would have to know more info such as mfg, and color.
We can find you a stone restorer who knows es well.He or she would probably need a test piece to work out the honing and polishing technique. Check out stoneandtilepros.com for a pro near you.
As far as a do it yourself project I dont suggest it.
Let me know where your located I may know someone.
