Granite for kitchen

Q. I have enjoyed Maurizo's responses at Findstone so much and am so sorry for your loss. I have a question based on my reading at Findstone and it is: I am planning to install granite for my kitchen counter and have been reading your very informative site and learned many things. I was going to use Kashmire White until I read your site and performed the lemon juice (not a problem) and oil (a definite problem) tests. Another color I like is Green Ventura (also know as Verde Florence). My requirements are low porosity and relatively inexpensive (in the range of Kashmire White and Green Ventura) and my preference is light in color. Is there a granite color that fits this by any chance? And am I correct in thinking that Green Ventura is not porous? I did perform the lemon juice and oil tests on the sample I have and it performed beautifully, but as the sample is not a chip off of a slab, I was worried that it may have already been sealed or something. Thank you so much for your help!
A. Hi and thank you for your kind words.
Thank goodness you arent going to use kashmir white!!!
I think the verde ventura will suit you fine but please check the slabs that you will be using.
One thing maurizio would tell you is you better have a good fabricator and Installer. If you werent informed about the pro and cons of kashmir white well then I might rethink
my  contractor choices.
