Uba Tuba Fading

Q.We installed Uba Tuba granite counter tops about 5 years ago. When we first picked the slab, we loved it because it had some beautiful gold and green specks in it. Over the years we have noticed the gold and green specks are less and less noticeable. Our counters once had a nice speckled look, now they look mostly all black from far away, and you can only see the gold when you look very very closely. My husband though it was all in my mind, but then I showed him that the piece underneath where we keep a large cutting board looks like new and still has all the colored specks, and the rest doesn't. It's a perfect square area with more color. Any areas on our counters that have appliances covering them still look new underneath, but in all the exposed areas the gold and green has faded leaving just black. They are still shiny, but the different gold and green specks have faded. Is this a result of the light fading them? Is this a result of our cleaner? I've only ever used cleaners made for granite. Is this just a natural reaction that happens since this is a natural stone? What can we do to get back that multi-colored look we like?
A. I think it may be related to uv rays, Can you send me a pic to mail@stoneshine.com.
I dont think it had anything to do with the cleaners however.
